Ingredients:
- 2 cups mawa (400g)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp saffron
- 1/2 tsp cardamom
- 1 tsp ghee

Method: Soak saffron in warm milk. Heat ghee in a pan, add crumbled mawa and cook on low heat. Add the saffron milk, sugar, and cardamom. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. Let it cool slightly, shape into balls, and press a pistachio on top!
🥘 2. Dharwad Peda (The Caramel Delight) 🤎
Ingredients:
- 2 cups paneer/chenna (250g)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- Fine sugar for coating
Method: Roast the paneer/chenna in ghee on medium heat until it turns a deep brown color. Add milk and sugar, cooking until the moisture evaporates. Once cooled, grind the mixture into a fine paste, shape into oblong rounds, and roll them in fine sugar for that signature look!
🥘 3. Mathura Peda (The Traditional Favorite) 🕉️
Ingredients:
- 2 cups khoya (400g)
- 1 cup boora (tagar)
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
Method: Roast the khoya in ghee until it reaches a beautiful dark golden brown. Add milk to keep it moist and mix in the cardamom and nutmeg. Once the mixture is warm (not hot), mix in the boora sugar. Shape them into rustic, uneven rounds—that's the authentic Mathura style!
🥘 4. Malai Peda (The Creamy Dream) 🥛
Ingredients:
- 2 cups full cream milk powder (200g)
- 1/2 cup condensed milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp cardamom
- 1 tsp ghee
- Saffron strands for garnish
Method: In a non-stick pan, combine milk powder, condensed milk, and heavy cream. Add ghee and cook on low flame, stirring constantly until a soft dough forms. Add cardamom powder. Once cool enough to handle, shape into smooth discs and decorate with saffron strands and pistachios.
